In
previous years it has been common public relations practice to provide
police walking patrols at city Little League games sponsored by the
Parks and Recreation Department. In light of budget tightening, we would
like to discontinue this expensive service.
Instead,
we would like to provide the game announcers with a two-way radio in
case police presence is needed. Officers on regular patrol can be at
the ballpark within minutes.
