What's the hub-bub with putting some events at Pioneer Park?

Things have gotten pretty crowded and uncomfortable at El Monte Park, so the Chamber of Commerce would like to expand to Pioneer Park, as well. I hear some of the service clubs are against the idea, though . . . .something about cutting profits. I don't know.
